Introduction
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Clearing Intern to support our customs clearing team with import and export documentation, customs declarations, shipment tracking and daily clearance activities. The role provides hands-on exposure to logistics operations, customs compliance and shipping procedures, while supporting the team with administrative and operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and verifying import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, permits and customs declarations.
  • Support customs clerks in submitting entries to the customs system under supervision.
  • Track shipments through ports and terminals to support timely clearance and release.
  • Learn to classify goods according to tariff codes and apply basic customs regulations.
  • Maintain and update customs files, shipment records and clearance reports.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as shipping, transport and warehousing to obtain shipment information.
  • Communicate with agents and customers to follow up on documentation and shipment status.
  • Observe and assist during customs inspections or release procedures when required.
  • Support the team in ensuring that documentation meets customs and company compliance standards.
  • File and archive customs and shipping documentation systematically.
  • Assist with data entry and updating customs information in relevant systems.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the customs and operations teams.
  • Assist with audits, special projects, internal training and process improvement initiatives when required.
  • Handle urgent or exceptional operational requests under supervision.

Minimum requirements

  • Diploma or Degree, or currently studying, in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of import/export and customs clearing processes. Training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication, organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
