Introduction
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive VDC Junior Controller to support daily vehicle logistics and distribution operations. The role involves coordinating vehicle movements from ports and storage yards to dealerships, monitoring delivery progress, maintaining accurate vehicle records, and assisting with damage reporting, inspections, repairs and claims documentation. The ideal candidate should possess strong organisational, communication and coordination skills, with an interest in automotive logistics.
Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vehicle movements from ports and storage yards to dealerships, ensuring timely deliveries.

  • Track estimated arrival times (ETAs), vehicle release statuses and delivery progress.

  • Communicate with OEMs, dealerships, transporters and yard teams to resolve operational delays.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle records, including VINs, vessel details and delivery documentation.

  • Compile and consolidate vehicle damage reports, including damage details, responsibility and repair progress.

  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, quality checks and repairs before dispatch.

  • Assist with claims documentation, including T896 forms, quotations, photographs and supporting records.

  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and maintain accurate reporting.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

  • Good communication, organisational and administrative skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • A qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management or a related field.

  • 1–2 years of experience in logistics coordination, transport administration, vehicle distribution or a related operational role.

  • Previous experience in automotive logistics, vehicle distribution centres or dealerships is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with vehicle tracking, VIN records, damage reporting and claims documentation is an advantage.

Minimum requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate daily logistics activities.

  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Previous experience in logistics, transport coordination or administration will be an advantage.
